Four Lads from Liverpool

On Saturday morning, Andrew, Matt, and I took a train from London to Liverpool.  We took a fast train and the trip took just over two hours.  Unlike the train to Dover which stopped frequently, the train to Liverpool only made two other stops.  It was great because I could catch up on some sleep.  We arrived in Liverpool just after 10am and set out to explore!

In the city center of Liverpool, there was another big screen that will show live coverage of the Olympic Games!

A little further through the city towards Albert Dock we came across this!

We headed towards Albert Dock in search of The Beatles Story Exhibition.  We saw a mini London Eye!

On the way, we passed the Merseyside Maritime Museum which is free to the public.  They were showing an exclusive exhibition titled Titanic & Liverpool, which also had free admission.  We popped in here for a quick look around!

After a quick and extremely delicious lunch, we finally made our way to The Beatles Story!  This museum contains authentic memorabilia, pictures, and loads of information detailing the Beatles' career and impact on the world.  Of course I took a ton of pictures in here for my brother!

The exhibit began where the Beatles began ... with The Quarrymen!  The instruments shown here were the instruments that John and his mates used in their performance at the Woolton village fete, where Lennon and McCartney met for the first time.

The exhibit ended explaining the break up of the band and John Lennon's Imagine album.

The gates seen here are repliacs of the original since they kept getting stolen.
